Letter from the President
It is hard to believe that 2011 is coming to an end! Where did another year go so quickly?
Welcome to the last edition of “The Innovator” for 2011.
Since the last edition of “The Innovator”, we have produced several more incredible events, released the 2011 Life Science Economic Impact Report for Washington state, continue to support dozens of life science start-up companies with our Commercialization efforts, and continue to focus on growing life sciences in Washington through our Policy efforts!
In October, we hosted the 5th Venture-Investor & Partnering (VIP) Forum this year, featuring Bayer Healthcare. Nearly 100 interested parties came to hear our guests from Bayer present an overview of how to partner with them. Then nearly 20 companies and researchers met with their business and scientific leaders 1:1 in what was one of our busiest VIP Forums to date. In order to let our hair down, we hosted this year’s 3rd Pub Night at the Pan Pacific. It was wall-to-wall with WBBA members, in what was a very enjoyable evening. WINGS was next, in what is turning out to be a very successful initiative! The discussion at the Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicineevent at UW’s Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine was outstanding, as was the discussion at Translational Medicine: From Bench to Bedside. >>Read more - Letter from the President

Member Spotlight- Ingenium Group LLC
Associate Member joined November 2011
Ingenium Group LLC (Ingenium), a California based full-spectrum environmental services company expanding its operations into Seattle in January 2012, is focused on providing the life sciences community with more sustainable solutions in post-consumer product management, such as hazardous waste, recyclables, and medical waste. Ingenium evaluates upstream, midstream, and downstream processes to identify opportunities for methods adjustment, resulting in substantial cost savings, capital recapture, and reuse of waste materials. Ingenium's core partnership philosophy is changing the dynamics of waste management. No longer is waste generation solely viewed as an expense, but rather an integrated progression within an overall system, with opportunities for recycling, reuse, and commodity transformation occurring frequently. With Ingenium as a partner in your environmental stewardship goals, your organization "won't waste the waste"
“We joined WBBA with the hope of forming a partnership and gaining a better understanding of the Life Sciences community in Seattle. Our experience with WBBA so far has been outstanding; they’ve been very proactive in helping us find necessary resources in a timely manner.
