Eric Danielson

Vice President of Science & Technology, Innovation Lead
JE Dunn Construction

Eric serves as a Vice President for JE Dunn Construction and leads its Science & Technology team building on a successful career that includes planning and economic development. Prior to joining JE Dunn, Eric worked as a research facility planner working closely with research and development teams to create an environment where investigators can achieve discovery. His experience spans the public and private sectors, planning higher education research and teaching laboratories as well as similar facilities for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers of human and animal health products.  Eric uses his planning background to support the implementation of plans through the construction services delivered nationally by JE Dunn.

His career started at the Lenexa, KS Chamber of Commerce in 2002 where he ultimately became the Director of Economic Development.  During his tenure, Eric helped recruit and retain over 3,300 jobs that created over $275M of capital investment in Lenexa.  During that time, he was integral in the development of the Kansas Economic Growth Act, the enabling legislation that created the Kansas Bioscience Authority. His engagement with bioscience companies gave him a chance to apply his degree in Environmental Science, earned at the University of San Diego in 2000.

Eric continues his involvement in planning and received his designation as a certified planner in 2012 by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), a division of the American Planning Association (APA).  He is also heavily involved in multiple scientific fields, serving on the Board of Directors of BioKanasas, the Missouri Biotechnology Association, and the Midwest Chapter of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers, and the Advisory Board of the KC Engineering Zone, a student engagement program of the Kansas City STEM Alliance.

A fourth generation Kansan, Eric is raising a fifth generation of Kansans in Shawnee along with his wife, Allison.  As a family, they are on a mission to see all sixty-one of America’s National Parks.  He is also the Public Address Announcer for the University of Kansas Men’s Basketball program in Allen Fieldhouse
